Professional Organizing Tips and Resources.
1. Be kind to yourself.
Many times people will speak to themselves in a way that we would never tolerate from someone else. The way you treat yourself can set a standard for others, so be kind to yourself, be patient and re-frame negative thoughts to positive statements rather than beating yourself up. Just as you would do for a friend, offer yourself constructive criticism, solutions and goals that are realistic.
The Dalai Lama once said: The way to overcome negative thoughts and destructive emotions is to develop opposing, positive emotions that are stronger and more powerful."
2. Make small, positive changes everyday.
How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
Making small, positive changes such as exercising a little, choosing healthier meals, creating new productive habits one at a time, for example, is a great way to get a boost and get excited about the positive direction your life is taking.
3. Stop Procrastinating
Take action to make change. Discipline is when you can choose what you really want over what you want right now and the more we put something off the bigger and scarier it appears. The quicker we get started the faster we finish.
Help make achieving goals easier by being realistic and objective when setting them. SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely. For greater success in making change and getting things done, be sure to plan your steps wisely in a realistic time frame.
What a Professional Organizer can do for you...
Many of us organizers work with people to overcome obstacles to getting organized and put in the elbow grease needed to get the work done. Personally, I do this because I have a passion for the work, and also because I really care that as many people as possible enjoy as much of their lives and space as possible!
Many of my clients are ready for change, have lost one too many opportunities or important sets of documents, or are caught up in a project that they just can't do alone. It doesn't end there as there are many reasons to call on the help of a professional organizer.
There are many organizers out there, yet I am different in the way that my enthusiasm really brings me close to my work. I love working with clients exploring their options, discovering solutions together and keeping them motivated.
If you need help to get organized contact me today. If I can't help you myself, or have a solution that fits your needs, I am happy to make a recommendation.
